New Jersey and New York Agree that Online Gambling is Legal

When it comes to opinions, New Jersey and New York have a significant one in common – both states agree that online casino gambling is legal.

According to a Nomura Securities gaming analyst, it is believed that some US states that want to make internet gambling legal may be granted this opportunity.  This would be highly beneficial to states that are in dire need of tax revenue, as it will offer them a new source of profits.  The analyst also stated that aside from New York and New Jersey, other states that may be among the first to legalize online poker games are California, Illinois and Nevada.

Due to the fact that the United States Department of Justice has declared that the Interstate Wire Act of 1961 only applies to sports gambling, this has opened new doors of possibilities for many states, enabling them to establish online poker laws that can be offered via their own lottery systems, eliminating federal involvement.
